EAST MIDLANDS FEDERATION RALLY SKEGNESS 2011

I have just returned from Skegness having attended the East Midlands Federation Rally.

Had a great time!  I know I'm biased as I am a member and the Federation Secretary, but we did have a really good time!

Fancy dress night and the theme was Musicals.  Pictured is the Chairman Mary James dressed as Cats!

On the Banquet night Mary presented me with a cheque for £2000.  Fantastic!!  Thank you ladies and keep up the good work!

ROYAL WEDDING - 29.04.11

Today I sat glued to the television for over 4 hours watching the Royal Wedding.

Yes the Dress was fantastic, yeas she looked great, yes Pippa's bum did look amazing!

The best bit for me however was when he turned to Kate and told her she looked beautiful!

Hope you all had a great day too!

THE GUILD OF MASTER VICTUALLERS ANNUAL BANQUET - 20.04.11

Today I travelled to The Wessex Hotel, Bournemouth, to attend the Annual Banquet of the Guild of Master Victuallers.  Norman High and his Committee made us very welcome.  The event was well attended and i thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

GMEC RALLY - BLACKPOOL - 12th APRIL 2011

Today I travelled to Blackpool to attend the GMEC Rally.  Had a great night and received a cheque for the LTC from their Chairman.

I also met Ian Bennett and his friend Terry Snowdon MBE.  Terry has raised thousands for the Heroes Charity based in Manchester.  His charity works with gifted children and young adults with autism.

PORTUGAL 2011 - 4TH TO 8TH APRIL 2011

Well I've just got back from The Southern Federation Conference in Portugal.  What a great week!

The Ladies made me and Nora Pitt feel very welcome.

I thoroughly enjoyed all the events especially the trip to Portimao.

Thanks to Pat Stamford who made all the arrangements for us.

Thelma Brown and Nora Pitt are ready for bed at the Pyjama Party!

HUDDERSFIELD LADIES AUXILIARY BANQUET - 29.03.11

Tonight I attended the Banquet of The Huddersfield Ladies.  The function was well attended and the company was good.

Events like these don't organise themselves so congratulations Ladies on a job well done!

A SAD DAY FOR THE CHARITY - 1ST MARCH 2011

Today is a very sad day for the Charity.  Today I travelled to Sandy, Kent, to attend the funeral of Mrs Shirley Gill, a Trustee and Regional Visitor of the Licensed Trade Charity.  Shirley will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her.  Her compassion and concern for the welfare of others less fortunate than herself is legendary.

Shirley always made time to talk to everyone. When she was the Chairman of the Fundraising Committees she made a point of visiting every committee in her year of office at least once!

It was great to see so many of Shirley's friends at the funeral and we made sure she had a good send off!

WEST KENT AGM AND LUNCH 02.03.11

Today I travelled to Kent to attend the West Kent Fund Raising Committee's AGM.  This was a lovely afternoon and Barbara William's and her members made me very welcome.

I had a great time and the day was made all the better when the Chairman presented me with a cheque.

Here is a picture of me and the Committee and the Cheque!

REGIONAL FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE MEETING - 16TH FEBRUARY 2011

Today the Chairmen and Secretaries of our Regional Committees were welcomed to Ascot for a General Meeting and get together.

It was good to hear from you all about how you are still trying to raise funds for our Benificiaries.  As I said at the meeting we must not get disheartened as even a small amount of money raised can mean a real difference to some one's life.  £200 can buy a Bed or a Fridge.  £500 is the average one off award we make to someone in crisis.

I find these meetings give us all a chance to hear from other regions and realise that we are not alone in our struggle to raise money today.  Sometimes it is good to hear other ways to fundraise and gives us fresh ideas.

Once again thanks to you all for making the effort to travel to HQ.
