SOUTHERN FEDERATION AGM - 20TH JUNE 2011

Today I travelled to Gravesend to attend the Southern Federation AGM held at the Battle of Britain Pub.

Jan Stubbs and her committee work tirelessly all year and I was honoured to receive a cheque for £2000.00 from the ladies.

Plans are already in hand for their Annual Rally in Portugal - just remember to let me know the dates!

Take care and once again thank you.  I know fundraising is not easy nowadays but without you where would we be?

RUBY'S 50TH NIGHT IN KENT - 15TH JUNE 2011

What can I say about Frank Thorley that hasn't already been said?

Fantastic, hard working, relentless, generous, wonderful, tireless!

Tonight I sat back and watched a Master at work!  Frank raised over £9000.00 virtually single handed with his skill and sheer audacity.  His friends were very generous as they made bid after bid for a vast array of gifts and memorabilia in the Charity Auction.

Frank was presented with a bottle of limited edition whisky and a signed certificate from our Chief Executive Jim Brewster and Fundraising and Marketing Director Liz Gaffer, as a thank you for all his hard work raising money and awareness for our Charity.

Keep it up Frank - we couldn't do it without you!!

HIGH ROCKS - 6TH JUNE 2011

Here I am pictured with the ladies (and gentlemen) at the Cabaret Lunch at High Rocks.

What a great day!!

Good food, good company what more could I ask for?  Not forgetting a cheque for £1000.00!!

Thank you ladies for making mum and I so welcome.

Keep up the good work!

HASSOCKS OFFICIAL OPENING

Today was the offical opening of our Hassocks School for Children and Young Adults with Autism and Aspergers.

Our Special Guest was Celebrity Chef and Restauranteur Paul Rankin.  What a lovely man he is!!

Paul worked with some of the kids all morning preparing pizzas and other delights for our visitors.  Check out our new website for Hassocks to see some of the great photos and videos were taken on the day.

Eveyone I spoke to said what a wonderful place Hassocks is and this is down to the hard work and dedication of Head Mistress Sarah Sherwood and her team.

The pupils are happy and thriving in the friendly atmosphere.  The site has a natural sense of calm and tranquility which you cannot fail to notice as soon as you arrive.

Well done to everyone who helped organise the event and thank you Students for allowing us to share in your Special Place.

Above is a picture of me and Paul Rankin
(needless to say my mum is sick of seeing it!).
